Monday 23rd January 2023
Good Morning Maple Class,
Please find below all of the information that you need for your home learning today. We hope that you enjoy your home learning activities and we look forward to revisiting and sharing this learning with you back in the classroom later this week.
On a Monday, we usually begin our day with a phonics session followed by maths. After break, we exercise during our PE lesson and after lunch we read our reading books and complete a reading task. We then move onto our learning in English and finally we have a History lesson. This routine may help you to structure your home learning today.
To further support the maths learning today, please scroll down to the useful links part of our class page. Here you will find some further resources that will support your child's learning.

Health and Happiness
Welcome back! We hope that you had a very festive Christmas break and that Father Christmas visited you all on Christmas Eve!
Please take a look at our Topic Web and the Home Learning challenges. Both of these documents will give you an Insight into our learning in Maple Class and will help you to further support your child at home.
As always, if you have any questions or would like to discuss anything, please get in touch using the email address' above.
PE
Please make sure that your child's full PE kit is in school every day of the week.
All clothing must be named and it is recommended that your child's PE bag has clothing suitable for sessions both inside and outside. PE this term will be on a Monday morning and Thursday afternoon.
LIBRARY
We will be visiting the library on the following dates. Please ensure you return all library books that you have borrowed.
READING
Reading is one of the most important skills your child will develop and it is at the heart of ALL areas of learning. In the classroom, we incorporate reading throughout all areas of learning and make it our priority to ensure that we promote a love of reading in the classroom.
At home, it is so important that your child gets chance to read and also be read to as much as possible each week. As well as helping your child to develop confidence and fluency when reading, it is also vital that you talk about the texts and stories so you engage and help strengthen their comprehension and understanding of the texts that you share. We would really appreciate your support in helping to promote a love of reading in Maple Class this year!
Our reading display in the classroom looks fantastic! Full of photos of your children enjoying reading at home in their favourite spaces. Thank you to everyone who took part in this.

Seasonal Change - WINTER
If you go down to the woods today...you will find Maple class exploring Winter! We have enjoyed a (cold!) enjoyable walk around our school woodland area. We used our senses to explain the changes we have observed. We are very lucky that we have the outdoor space to explore!
