Class Pine 2021 - 2022

Welcome to Pine Class
 
We hope you have had a lovely half term break.
 
We are really looking forward to this half term and supporting your child on their learning journey. We aim to develop their independence and passion for learning.
 
Below you can find our 'Getting Settled' topic web and homework choices for this half term.
 
PE will be on Wednesdays and swimming will be on Thursdays.
For swimming, please ensure that your child has a drink bottle, a snack and goggles if they wish. We will not be in school for the usual break time, therefore there will be no school snacks available.
 
Library will be on alternate Thursdays.
 
Please ensure that your child has the required equipment in school.

Friday 1st October 2021 - Music
 
This half term, we are 'Livin' on a prayer'.
Friday 8th October 2021 - Sculpture Trail
 
We had a great morning using our map skills to find our way around the sculpture trail to take photos in the style of Lucy Shires for our art work.
Tuesday 12th October 2021 - STEM workshop
 
We used team work and problem solving skills to design and create an effective fairground ride for our chosen audience. We used coding skills to create algorithms for the motors, lights and music that formed an integral part of our overall design. We used logical thinking and debugging skills to solve design and coding problems.

Wednesday 13th October 2021 - SkillZone, Gloucester
 
SkillZone is Gloucestershire's only interactive life skills village where people of all ages can learn how to keep themselves safe whether at home or in their community.
 
We focused on the following areas: shop, park, dark alley, bus, police custody suite and cell.
 
We also did some practical wellbeing activities to help build confidence, self-esteem and good relationships.
