Family Support at BHPS

FAMILY SUPPORT:

We know that children learn best when families, school and child work closely together.
We maintain an open-door policy and would encourage families to make contact with us at an early stage if there is anything of concern - either at school, or at home.
It can be difficult to speak with class teachers at the beginning of the school day as learning begins as soon as children enter school, but we encourage use of the Link Book that all children have to share information and concerns.  In the infant classes (Beech, Elm and Maple) these will be checked by staff daily, and in Junior Classes (Larch, Chestnut, Pine and Oak) we encourage children to bring their Link Books to the teacher's attention if there is a note.
In addition, where a concern is more serious, or you prefer a conversation, a meeting with class teacher can be arranged so that discussion can take place.  Please let your child's teacher know that you would like to speak with them, and a meeting will be arranged as soon as possible.
We also have Family and Child Support Worker Mrs Jacqui Reddan who is also available to support families on a wide range of issues.  She can be contacted by telephone - 01594 832262 or by email jreddan@berryhill.gloucs.sch.uk.
