Learning Aids

In class we use many different resources to support your child learning, these include sound mats to support writing and number lines to support numeral formation and calculations. Below you will find some of these resources which will be familiar to your child.

Reading Activities and Comprehension Tasks

This week there are a selection of comprehension and inferencing tasks for you to complete. I have added a couple more than usual as they may be something you would like to do during the Summer Holidays as part of your regular reading.

Phonics

It is important you continue to revise your Phase Two, Three and Five sounds, and your tricky words.

You can also access daily Letters and Sounds phonics lessons produced by the English Hub using the following link https://wandleenglishhub.org.uk/lettersandsounds/year-1

I have also attached some revision worksheets to recap what you have previously learnt in class.
Maths

This week I am providing some worksheets for you to continue to practise counting in 2's,5's and 10's.

A Letter to My New Teachers

After watching the videos above can you write a letter to Mrs Calcutt and Mrs Hodgson?  Within your letter try and include a little bit of information about yourself, your likes and dislikes, what you do outside of school etc as well as what you are looking forward to in Year Three.  You may also like to include any questions you may have. Please could you email your completed letters to me (lhawkins@berryhill.gloucs.sch.uk) and I will print a copy for your Learning Diaries and pass a copy to Mrs Calcutt and Mrs Hodgson.
