Schools Gymnastics competition- Saturday 19th March 2016

Gymnastics @ The Forest of Dean Gymnastics Centre

Five of our children from BHPS took part in the Forest of Dean Gymnastics competition which was open to local skills who wished to enter. It was a long day, starting at 10.30am and finishing at 7.30pm, but the children were in great spirits and had a fantastic day! The children taking part in this competition chose a routine and had been practising this routine for the last 5 weeks at our Gymnastics After School Club, run by Miss Cooper. The children worked hard on their timing, balance and stretches to ensure that they made their routine as smooth and as flawless as possible. The then had to perform this routine in front of a large audience, invidiually, one at a time- a very daunting task for anyone! Nevertheless, the children stepped up to the mark and tried so hard to do their best. They also had to complete 2 vaults on the equipment at the gym, something that they had not practised before at school due to the equipment needed! They all did fantastically and two of our pupils even won a Bronze medal for coming 3rd in their division! Well done to Ella, Maisie, Grace W, Grace P and Holly P- You all did brilliantly.

Below is a collection of photos from the day- see if you can spot yourselves! Apologies for the sideways pictures- they don't seem to want to rotate!
