Oak 2016 - 2017

Welcome to Oak Class!

Our final topic of the academic year is World War II: during this topic we will be learning about how and why the war started; which countries were involved; what happened to the children living in cities; the role of women and the Holocaust.

Check back here regularly to see what we have been up to.
We spent 3 days at PGL; we took part in a wide range of activities including archery, kayaking, climbing, challenge course, trapeze, den building & high ropes.

Despite a bit of tiredness & home sickness everybody had a great time.

More pictures & videos to follow.
We came into school dressed for the jobs we want to have in the future.
During Empty Classroom Day we did a maths treasure hunt in the school playing field, calculated the average time to run 60m on the running track and experimented making stop motion animation using the iPads in preparation our DT lesson next week. At the end of the day we shared our favourite piece of writing with Larch and Pine class.
In DT we have been making clay objects - it was messy but very fun!
We enjoy working with other classes; we have done some shared reading with Larch class and spent time with our buddies in Reception.
